FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What to Expect When You Begin Therapy

We start by scheduling a 30-minute video consultation. The consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and determine if we are a good fit. We'll explore what brings you to therapy, learn more about you, and identify your goals for therapy.

TYPES OF THERAPY OFFERED

I utilize a wide range of therapy modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based therapy, psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. My approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. I treat adolescents and adults, ages 12 and older.

COST OF SESSIONS

The fee for your initial consultation is $50, and the fee for a typical 50-60 minute session is $250. Payments are accepted via credit/debit card, cash/zelle, or FSA/HSA.

I am out of network for insurance, as I strongly believe it is in your best interests to seek therapy independent of the confines of an insurance company. With that said, if you have an eligible plan, I can provide you with a superbill you can submit for reimbursement.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

Under the "No Surprises Act," health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using their insurance (including superbills) an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.   You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. For therapy, this is a simple calculation of the session fee multiplied by the amount of tentative sessions we plan to have.   If eligible, please request a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask me, or any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.   For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
